The process of broadening the scope of REDD investments has not always been well received by all stakeholders. In particular, many non-governmental organizations have opposed the inclusion of REDD + activities such as responsible forest management and plantations. The fears arise from the fact that the increase in the carbon stock may take place at the expense of primary forests replaced with monocultures. This resistance is mostly due to a lack of complete information in the project planning.
